Responsible for providing routine daily nursing services to assigned residents in a manner that is caring, compassionate and customer-oriented and in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines.

High school diploma or equivalent; successfully completed a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program; must possess a current certification in good standing, or be able to obtain certification within four months of employment, if allowable by the state; must have CPR certification.

• Provides quality nursing care to residents and communicates to each resident and family member to build positive relationships.
• Routinely makes rounds and responsively provides proper resident care and service.
• Assesses residents for condition changes and reports to nurse supervisor.
• Answers resident call lights promptly and courteously.
• Delivers meals and provides feeding assistance to residents and provides hydration.
• Performs vital sign monitoring/charting and observes residents for changes in condition or behavior and reports to nursing supervisors.
• Provides assistance to residents for showers or baths.
• Provides assistance with lifting, turning, moving, transporting or transferring residents.
• Monitors incontinent residents to ensure bed linens and clothing are clean and dry.
• Assists residents with toileting and bedpans and collects urine, stool and sputum samples as directed.
