- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at Game Stop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; handle correct change, bagging, receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate to the Store Manager when appropriate; maintain courteous and professional communications.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training staff on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance to ensure alignment with company expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document performance feedback in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure associates complete onboarding and training prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial, and ethical responsibilities.
- Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks, and maintain optimum guest service levels.
- Approve payroll and manage paid time off, ensuring accurate timekeeping and pay.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and proper functioning of fixtures and equipment.
- Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
- Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety checks; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties.
- Perform inventory counts, stock/restock, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
- Balance daily transactions in the POS; complete closeout paperwork and cash handling per guidelines; ensure sufficient cash on hand.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate discrepancies to management.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines.
- Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks when the Store Manager is absent; adhere to all company policies.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
