Job Summary

This position is responsible for customer service, merchandising and overall success of the store. The role maximizes customer and staff satisfaction and helps maintain company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include scheduling, payroll, and maximizing daily sales while embodying the company vision, mission, and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding customer service
  • Operate within Life is Good/Kitty Hawk Kites core values, mission, and purpose statement
  • Select and train staff carefully
  • Maintain appropriate staff levels during various seasons and holidays
  • Attend company functions and/or meetings as required
  • Supervise staff
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive store environment
  • Prepare staff schedules, opening & closing reports, payroll reports, and sales documentation
  • Prepare marketing reports, budget projections, transfer forms and packing slips
  • Supervise merchandising, maintain stock levels, and ensure items are restocked or sourced
  • Ensure daily cash deposits, upkeep of maintenance needs, and store upkeep
  • Assist the buyer with feedback and current trends
Education and Experience
  • 3 to 4 years of retail experience and 1 to 2 years of management experience; college degree preferred
Skills
  • Read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, journals, procedures, or regulations
  • Write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
  • Calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, areas, circumferences, and volumes
  • Apply concepts of algebra and geometry
  • Solve practical problems in varied situations
  • Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Working Conditions

The work environment is climate-controlled indoors with occasional outdoor work. Reasonable accommodations may be made. Noise level is moderate.

Physical Requirements

Time will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. Lifting up to 35 lbs. Continuous computer work, cash register work, sales floor activities, event work, and mail order work.
