Position Summary:

The General Construction Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the installation and assembly of pre-engineered building systems on commercial and government project sites. This role requires strong knowledge of structural systems, experience working in diverse site conditions, and the ability to follow plans and specifications to support the construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, assembly, and erection of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) systems, including framing, wall panels, roofing, trim, and insulation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and manufacturer installation guides.
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment such as aerial lifts, hand tools, power tools, drills, saws, and cutting torches.
• Perform layout and measurement tasks for accurate placement of structural components.
• Safely rig, hoist, and align structural components using cranes and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and secured.
• Comply with all OSHA regulations, site safety plans, and company safety policies.
• Report any hazards, incidents, or safety violations to supervision immediately.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in general construction, with specific experience in pre-engineered metal building systems (PEMB/PEB) preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial and/or government construction standards and protocols.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be capable of passing a DoD security background check and receiving a contractor base pass as required to work on federal property.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Equipment certifications (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, boom lift).
• Welding or metal fabrication experience is a plus.

Pay Range: $25-$35/HR
