The Graduate Engineer will serve as a key project team member on municipal projects from planning through design and construction. Graduates will work under a Project Manager or Senior Engineer and may act as resident project representative (RPR) during construction.

• Provide professional civil engineering services for clients by planning, designing, specifying, and reporting on civil projects.
• Communicate frequently and effectively with supervisors and project managers, providing updates and progress during all phases of projects.
• Attend company meetings, project meetings, and client meetings on a regular basis.
• Contribute to proposals and client interviews to secure work for the firm; business development responsibilities will grow with experience.
• Exercise independent judgment and think critically to make rational decisions.
• Act as the project engineer and owner’s on‑site representative during construction.
• Collaborate with the Apex team on developing project plans and specifications.
• Follow company CADD procedures, employee handbook, and safety policies.
• Perform responsibilities in a conscientious, legal, and ethical manner with strong attention to detail.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Participate in professional organizations and community leadership programs.
• Travel and out‑of‑town stays may be required; overtime may be necessary during construction season.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain certification within one year.
• O‑5 years of experience working as a Civil Engineer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedules to meet deadlines and client needs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil‑3D and Microstation/Geo Pak design software.
• Experience with Google‑Sketch
  
  UP Pro or Arc Map GIS is a plus.
• Experience in civil design drawings, specifications, and cost opinions is a plus.
• A valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

• Operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions.
• Work outdoors during construction season.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods during construction observation or surveying.
• Lift and move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Work scheduled and required hours.

Hourly Base Pay Range: $31 - $40 (Actual base pay is dependent on several factors, including experience, education, licensure, job location, and internal equity.)
