RN Triage – Family Medicine – Sanford Health

Shift: 8 Hours – Day Shifts (Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm). Full time, 32 hrs per week.

Salary: $29.50 – $44.50 per hour.

Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms. Guides the patient to the appropriate level of care, schedules patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians, documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems, and records patients' health conditions for follow‑up care. Maintains and develops triage protocols;

ensures patients' healthcare information is updated on time. The role answers inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on the department, and educates patients based on calls that come in.

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the state where nursing practice occurs; multistate licensure acceptable if in an NLC state.
• Within the first 30 days of employment, obtain and maintain all required department competencies and certifications.
