An established real estate management company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of property management accounting.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage cash flow reporting and bank reconciliations.
• Collaborate with property managers and senior leadership on financial performance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior experience in real estate or property management strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Commercial real estate accounting experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems
