Smith Group is looking for a Project Accountant to join our team.

Working with us, you will:
  • Assist with the set‑up and maintenance of project budgets and client billing information (including client billing tables) in the project accounting system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Work with studio leaders, project managers, and project accountant supervisors to prepare client invoices and supporting documentation through the electronic project accounting system.
  • Partner and build a strong relationship with the project manager from the inception to completion of each project.
  • Assist with the electronic reconciliation and maintenance of client contract, billing files, and consultant invoices.
  • Assist with the application of client payments.
  • Assist with the research and resolution of payment discrepancies.
  • Provide support to studio leaders or project managers on collections.
  • Work with accounts payable to pay consultants.

    Provide support for the preparation of management reports, monthly project reviews, and audit deliverables.
  • File and retrieve electronic invoices and statements within a paperless accounting system.
  • Assist in other accounting areas as requested or assigned.
An ideal candidate has:
  • An associate's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business program, or equivalent, from a two‑year college or technical school, and two years related experience and/or training.
  • 2+ years of experience with Accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • The ability to retain and apply accounting policies and procedures.
  • High proficiency in Excel, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, data input, and organization, while exhibiting excellent customer service and communication skills under pressure.
  • Experience with complex client invoicing such as consultant invoices and employee expense reports, preferably in an electronic format.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy office environment and deal with competing priorities/requests.
  • Experience performing accounting for the architectural, engineering, or construction professions and experience working with auditors and/or monthly project financial reviews is preferred.

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $22.60 to $30.29 per hour dependent on the location you reside in.
