Job ProfileThe bank is searching for a Senior Accountant (Debt/Securitization) who will play a critical role in providing accurate, timely, and relevant financial information, advice, and transaction support to key stakeholders.
Be responsible for accounting-related activities and will lead in developing and executing accounting processes for its strategic growth initiatives.
Education Level- Bachelor’s Degree (required) (Accounting major preferred) CPA (or equivalent) or MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of previous work experience in accounting

- General technical accounting or functional skills for the area of expertise (required)
- Assess current accounting practices and adopt changes to Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), as applicable. Assist with the research and implementation of technical accounting and disclosure matters, and develop comprehensive documentation that links our business unit accounting practices to the relevant accounting policies
- Assist in the further evaluation of Advantage (operational system) loan level data and its downstream impact on whole loan and securitization transactions
- Engage in the synthetic securitization investor report creation, review, and distribution, ensuring servicing activity results are accurate and timely
- Ensure corresponding account reconciliations are properly supported and in compliance with global policy; research transactions that drive journal entries and make sure there is adequate documentation to support general ledger balances (and provide an explanation of how the accounts work)
- Evaluate processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness, and make improvements where possible
- Lead the accounting close process (e.g. prepare journal entries, financial statement account analysis, etc.) and prepare related monthly account reconciliations for synthetic securitization and support the accounting close process for whole loan transaction as needed
- Lead the implementation of new transactions as they occur
- Liaise with both internal and external auditors
- Liaise with key stakeholders and other functional areas, such as FP&A, Risk, Treasury, IT, etc.
- Support the whole loan transactions as needed as the program expands.
- Assist with special projects/ad-hoc requests as needed
- Ability to lead small projects or contribute meaningfully to larger projects.
- Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis, and provide explanations/conclusions to management.
- Ability to work with limited supervision while applying previous experience to execute all but the most complex tasks.
- Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) preferred.
- Comfortable interacting with other personnel in group or support staff from other departments; may interact with other internal and external personnel (i.e., external auditors, regulators) on specific projects or more complex tasks, usually under supervision.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and a high degree of self-motivation.
- Sound oral and written communication skills.
