We are seeking a dependable, organized, and confident leader to manage our evening shift, support staff, and ensure a safe, nurturing, and well-run environment as children prepare for departure.
Position OverviewThe Evening Lead/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing evening operations, ensuring staff accountability, supporting children’s end of day routines, and securing the facility at closing.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead all evening shift staff, ensuring job responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure staff complete required daily schedule with children checklists, and cleaning duties.
- Monitor classroom operations and assist with children’s end of day routines, including preparing for parent pick-up.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with parents during evening pick-up.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in compliance with licensing and health standards.
- Conduct routine staff observations and provide feedback to support performance and accountability.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Close the childcare center, ensuring all rooms are clean, lights and equipment are secured, doors are locked, and the building is fully secured for the night.
- Report concerns or incidents to management as needed.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in childcare or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (required).
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of child development and best childcare practices.
- Ability to manage staff while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Must be dependable and able to work evening hours consistently.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- CDA preferred (or willingness to obtain while employed).
