Evening Lead / Supervisor

The Evening Lead / Supervisor is responsible for overseeing evening operations, ensuring staff accountability, supporting childrens end of day routines, and securing the facility at closing.

• Supervise and lead all evening shift staff, ensuring job responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
• Ensure staff complete required daily schedule with children checklists, and cleaning duties.
• Monitor classroom operations and assist with childrens end of day routines, including preparing for parent pick‑up.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with parents during evening pick‑up.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in compliance with licensing and health standards.
• Conduct routine staff observations and provide feedback to support performance and accountability.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and team‑oriented work environment.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations.
• Close the childcare center, ensuring all rooms are clean, lights and equipment are secured, doors are locked, and the building is fully secured for the night.
• Report concerns or incidents to management as needed.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in childcare or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification (required).
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of child development and best childcare practices.
• Ability to manage staff while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
• Must be dependable and able to work evening hours consistently.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• CDA preferred (or willingness to obtain while employed).
