Senior Project Architect –

We invite a highly motivated Senior Project Architect to join our team. The Senior Project Architect works with project teams to guide and manage initiatives throughout all stages of design, supporting an iterative, collaborative design process and seeking innovative solutions within the built environment. The role balances architectural practice with leadership, managing and mentoring design teams, and interacting with clients and engineering professionals.
Responsibilities- Provide architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, and recommendations for the assigned project within schedules and budgets.
- Manage groups of architects, designers, and specialists, including modest‑size projects or assisting project architectural or engineering managers.
- Lead complex projects and deliver final design solutions.
- Lead the development of contract documents through all phases of design (SD, DD, CD, CA).
- Prepare architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, and specifications.
- Coordinate and lead quality control reviews of contract documents prior to issuance to client.
- Coordinate internal AECOM and external A/E disciplines for successful outcomes during construction.
- Attend design reviews with clients, project managers, and municipal agencies.
- Validate design decisions based on cost analysis with an understanding of logistics and procurement efficiencies.
- Evaluate contractor progress during construction and provide recommendations.
- Stay current with new design software developments (e.g., BIM, Revit, ACC, AI, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Apply creative design thinking to client’s business problems to maximize the value of AECOM’s service.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an NAAB‑accredited program.
- 6+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project delivery or equivalent.
- Licensed Architect in the state of practice.
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketch Up; visualization tools like Enscape or Lumion.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and sustainability practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Architecture.
- 8+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project delivery or equivalent.
- Experience in federal projects and proven ability to deliver high‑quality designs.
- Strong portfolio showcasing impactful architectural designs across relevant sectors.
- LEED Accreditation or equivalent sustainability certification is a plus.
Additional Information:
- This position will not offer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Compensation range: USD 110,000 – 140,000 yearly.
