Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a well-established, high-volume adult cardiothoracic surgery program cent Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital serving Northwest Ohio.

St. Vincent Medical Center has provided comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care for more than 40 years and remains a regional referral center for complex cardiac and thoracic services. The incoming surgeon will join two full-time cardiothoracic surgeons in a mature program performing 400+ total cases annually, including nearly 100 structural heart cases and approximately 30 ECMO cases per year.

Clinical Practice & Case Mix: This position offers a full-scope adult cardiothoracic surgery practice, including:

  • Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
  • Comprehensive valve surgery (repair and replacement)
  • Structural heart surgical cases
  • Thoracic aortic aneurysm repair
  • Surgical management of atrial fibrillation
  • Mechanical circulatory support, including ECMO and Impella 5.5 (preferred, not required)
  • The surgeon will participate in preoperative and postoperative management, including ICU and step-down care, and maintain a weekly outpatient clinic to ensure continuity of care.

Call &

Schedule:

  • 1:3 shared call rotation (approximately 10 days per)
  • Balanced mix of elective and urgent/emergent case

Candidate Profile:

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship training
  • Demonstrated interest and competence across the spectrum of adult cardiac surgery
  • Strong interest in critical care and postoperative ICU management
  • Post-fellowship experience preferred; recent graduates will be considered with appropriate training and support
  • Interest in education and collaborative program development encouraged
