Activity Facilitator, C2 Pipeline - College of Nursing. Wayne State University is seeking an experienced Activity Facilitator, C2 Pipeline - College of Nursing at its Detroit campus.

Essential functions (job duties)- Responsible for teaching high school students while acting as a role model.
- Effectively plan for the classes, programs and enrichment. Write and/or follow lesson plans that accompany the curriculum.
- Assist the Site Coordinator in planning and implementing program launches, open houses, special exhibits, field trips and any performances.
- Actively promote and assist in recruiting and enrollment for the C2 Pipeline 21st CCLC Program.
- Assist with the Michigan Department of Education and MSU 21st CCLC surveys, data collection and deadlines. Assist with the David P. Wikart Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA), assessments and observations. Attend trainings as mandated by Michigan Department of Human Services Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Provide direction, leadership, and supervision in the teaching of enrichment activities to high school students in addition to providing assistance with homework and tutoring.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in an educational or youth related field, preferred.
- In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, following Health and Human Services Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers Rule 400.8122 to include:
Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development;
Montessori Credential with 480 hours experience in a youth related program; valid CDA with 480 hours experience in a youth related program; high school diploma/GED with 12 semester hours in coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and 960 hours experience in youth related field; or equivalent combinations totaling required clock hours and hours of experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field. - Must pass all background checks required by the Department of Human Services Daycare Licensing Guidelines and Wayne State University employment policies prior to employment.
- Must secure Live Scan fingerprinting, show TB Skin Test results within one year of employment, show proof of immunizations required by the assigned school or university, and show evidence of Bloodborne Pathogen Training prior to working with students.
Experience
- Experienced (minimum 2 years) in job-related work.
- Experience managing and engaging groups or classes of “At-Risk” high school students.
- Experience and knowledge in high school core academics such as STEM and reading.
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification prior to working with students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate a mature and professional attitude in dealings with students, parents, school district staff and community partners.
- Evidence of organizational, supervisory and interpersonal skills required to run effective pipeline programming and build relationships with students, parents, school district staff and coworkers.

Some evening and weekend work is required. Maximum of 12 hours/week, 2.5-3 hours per day, Monday through Friday predominantly. Schedule dependent on student release times at the individual high schools. Some sites have regularly scheduled early release days.
