Position Overview
The College for Creative Studies (CCS) Precollege and Continuing Studies invites applications from individuals with expertise in glassblowing and glass art. This part‑time instructor will teach adult learners and/or teens ages 16 and older in the Continuing Education program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging glass art instruction to diverse adult and teen student populations.
- Design, organize, and maintain safe studio and classroom environments with proper safety protocols.
- Assess student learning progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance the Continuing Education program.
- Terminal degree in Fine Arts, Crafts, or related field, with extensive professional experience in glass art.
- Demonstrated proficiency in hot and cold glass shop work.
- Teaching experience at community college, university, or other higher‑education level.
- Commitment to working with diverse student and community populations.
- Non‑exempt, partially exempt, or other FLSA status as applicable.
Professional office and campus environment, moderate noise level. Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Requires regular stationary position, use of computer and office equipment, communication in person, by phone, and virtually. May move objects up to 25 pounds and travel between campus sites.
