Spanish Teacher, Grades 1-8
DWS is currently accepting applications for a Spanish Language Teacher for Grades 1–8. We are seeking a teacher who is enthusiastic about Waldorf education, experienced with elementary and middle school students, and passionate about Spanish language and culture. This position is primarily for the 2026–2027 school year, but there may be opportunities to begin contributing during the 2025–2026 school year in a limited or transitional capacity.

Schedule and Responsibilities:
This is a full-time, salaried position during the school year, delivering a developmentally appropriate Waldorf Spanish language curriculum twice per week for each class in grades 1–8.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing weekly lessons aligned with Waldorf pedagogy and the developmental stages of each grade
- Teaching through games, songs, and poetry in early grades, and vocabulary, grammar, and conversation in middle school
- Participating in student supervision, school festivals, and community events, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Communicating effectively with parents and colleagues about student progress and school activities
- Participating in Parent-Teacher Conferences (twice per year or as needed)
- Completing weekly Shared Time record-keeping
- Attending faculty meetings, mentoring sessions, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
An excellent candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree (required)
- Fluency in Spanish (native speakers strongly preferred)
- Experience teaching grades 1–8, preferably in a Waldorf or similar educational setting
- Interest in or training in Waldorf pedagogy (Waldorf teacher training or experience is a plus)
- A collaborative, reflective teaching style and a strong, positive classroom presence
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Candidates must also be eligible to participate in Shared Time programming
