PES Group, a consulting firm specializing in Energy Management, Electrical, Mechanical, I&C, and Information systems engineering, is seeking an experienced energy manager in the Detroit Metro Area, MI.
Qualifications and Background:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Engineering Technologies, or Facility Engineering.
- Possesses analytical skills to assess problems and situations, develop recommendations, and implement solutions, including economic justifications.
- Must possess interpersonal skills to facilitate effective interactions with team members, internal and external customers, and vendors/suppliers/contractors.
- Has at least three (3) years of experience conducting energy and/or power studies, managing projects, directing and inspecting implementation teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to present ideas, findings, and recommendations logically and clearly, and negotiate and persuade effectively.
- Is a self‑leader and can work without constant direction.
The Energy Manager will be part of a team assigned to aid commercial and industrial customers in reducing energy usage. Key duties include:
- Launch and sustain an energy awareness campaign to raise awareness and engender a culture shift.
- Develop and maintain an energy management team of appropriate facility personnel.
- Prepare and maintain baseline information on key energy parameters relative to the facility’s energy‑consuming activities.
- Conduct periodic energy audits to determine cost‑saving opportunities and report progress; maximize non‑capital opportunities.
- Perform detailed utility bill analyses and develop recommendations for more efficient equipment operation.
- Maintain current energy savings projects and opportunities list and assist with implementation.
- Monitor, review, and recommend participation in federal, state, local, and utility energy conservation initiatives, programs, and rebates.
- Seek opportunities to improve customer satisfaction by recommending and implementing energy‑efficient alternatives.
- Review proposals for new machines, equipment, and processes that consume energy.
- Develop business cases and assist in writing capital and/or resource appropriation requests.
