Leggett & Platt Automotive is searching for a Validation Testing Technician to join our Electronics Validation Engineering team to help support our Automotive business at the Detroit Technical Center (DTC) in Detroit MI. Our Automotive business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class product capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry. DTC is a fully Accredited Lab to ISO-17025. As a Validation Testing Technician, you have a great opportunity to be part of a collaborative, hands-on team within a global organization. If you enjoy a mix of lab work, technical testing, and office-based tasks—and you’re a fast learning, detail-oriented team player—this role could be a great fit.

Responsibilities
  • Performing and documenting lab testing on prototypes, components, and systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development.
  • Collecting and analyzing data from both automated and manual test systems.
  • Assisting engineering staff in developing and refining test procedures.
  • Ensuring traceability and accuracy of test data through defined processes.
  • Maintaining a high standard of Safety and a Clean work environment.

    • Radiated / Conductive Emissions
    • Bulk Current Injection (BCI)

Qualifications
  • To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • Effective communication skills across engineering, project management, and technician teams.
  • Familiarity with general lab and testing procedures in the Automotive Industry.
  • Ability to develop basic mathematical models from test data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree
  • Technical testing experience in a testing Lab facility
  • Understanding of Microsoft software like Excel and Word
  • Understanding of ISO-17025 Accreditation Standards.
