Job SummaryProvide quality CAD drafting support for legacy as-built project utilizing AutoCAD 2024, working under the guidance of a Contract Mechanical Designer and/or Transmission Drafting Supervisor.
Key Accountabilities- Create new, or edit existing, 2D CAD drawings.
- Create or update materials lists, as necessary.
- Adhere to company filing system, CAD, and Drafting Standards along with company drafting techniques.
- Attend project meetings when requested.
- Field visits to take digital photographs and measurements.
- Perform self-check of work and other required documentation.
Minimum of 4 years of mechanical piping experience including familiarity with the following:
- Welded, flanged, and threaded process piping assemblies and installation.
- Strong understanding of plan & section views, details, and material lists.
- General understanding of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- General understanding of isometric and schematic drawings.
- Basic knowledge of the use of reference files, raster images and block libraries within CAD software.
- General understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
- Must be able to interpret and/or prepare field sketches and photographs.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.
- Must reside in the state of Michigan – (Metro Detroit area preferred).
- Reliable internet service.
