Role: SWS and Airbag Application Engineer
Location:
Detroit, MI
Responsibilities:
- Design & CAD Modeling
:
Create and release 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using CATIA V5. - Engineering Deliverables: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM),
DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis),
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), tolerance stack-up analysis,
DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly), and Design Verification Plans (DVP). - System Validation & Testing: Support prototype builds, product validation testing, crash/SLED test interpretation, and vehicle trials.
- Root Cause Analysis: Use structured problem-solving methodologies like 8D/G8D to resolve quality or manufacturing issues.
- Cross-Functional & Supplier Coordination
:
Work with project management, purchasing, manufacturing, quality teams, and Tier-1 suppliers to meet vehicle performance targets and APQP requirements.
