What you'll do- Define electrical architecture, power budgets, control components, protection, grounding, wiring, and connectors
- Create schematics, wiring diagrams, input and output (I/O) lists, panel layouts, harness definitions, and build instructions
- Select and integrate relays, drivers, motors, pumps, fans, sensors, safety devices, and off-the-shelf hardware
- Define startup, shutdown, emergency stop, fault, recovery, and safe-state behavior
- Support bench testing, prototype troubleshooting, supplier discussions, and documentation revisions
- Flag certification, code, thermal, ingress, or user safety concerns that need specialist review
- Five or more years developing electrical or controls systems for physical equipment or products
- Experience producing buildable documentation used by technicians, fabricators, or contract manufacturers
- Strong practical troubleshooting and comfort working on early prototypes
- Working knowledge of electrical safety principles, and judgment about when to involve a licensed or certification professional
- Clear communication across software, mechanical, design, and manufacturing teams
Relevant but not required.
- Connected products, interactive installations, automation, laboratory equipment, medical equipment, or consumer hardware
- UL or other nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL) preparation
