Parking Enforcement Officer - Driving

• Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, public areas or an entire campus to ensure compliance with parking policies.
• Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations and parking policies.
• Issue citations and warnings for non‑compliance using a handheld computer, and facilitate vehicle impound, boot or relocation as directed.
• Work independently with proper judgment, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
• Assist maintenance staff with parking equipment and facility upkeep, including inspecting lots, painting, cleaning, repairing meters, and installing signs.
• Collect and secure all monies received through parking meters, multi‑space machines, pay‑on‑foot technology and other revenue sources.
• Assist event staff with parking activities such as setup, traffic control, payment receipt and lot usage control.
• Assist office staff with permit sales, data entry, mailings, and frontline customer service during peak seasons.
• Perform any other related duties assigned.

  Enforcement officers are not sworn police officers and have no arresting authority.

• Knowledge of the geography for the area being enforced.
• Understanding of hazards and safety precautions.
• Proficiency with a handheld computer.
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
• Understanding and application of parking regulations.
• Courteous and tactful interaction with others.
• Ability to walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older at hiring.

Shifts may vary; availability for 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required.

A valid state‑issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record is required only if the position involves driving a company vehicle or company business.

Tasks include standing, walking, using hands for handling, talking and listening. Employees work outdoors in weather conditions ranging from snowstorms to extreme heat and must be safety conscious in traffic situations.
