Partnership Manager, Tax (BDO USA)
BDO USA seeks a seasoned tax professional to provide tax & consulting services to our Pass‑Through clients.
Responsibilities- Perform tax planning, preparation, and research for Pass‑Through businesses; manage client engagements, supervise and review staff work, and work closely with clients and internal managers & partners.
- Write books and records, compose written tax advice or responses to IRS inquiries.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely services and work product.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of tax concepts and actively pursue increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current developments.
- Ensure compliance with authorities and firm policies, conduct top‑level reviews, and resolve all tax issues with clients.
- Plan and review tax processes and procedures, including budgeting, staffing, monitoring engagement progress, billing, and collection.
- Manage client relationships and expectations in accordance with the project.
- Provide timely advice to clients.
- Conduct research when needed, apply firm and professional standards, and involve specialists as appropriate.
- Develop and introduce new ideas to improve client, firm, or personnel positions, including reviewing tax implications and offering alternative courses of action.
- Build and train a team of professionals serving high net‑worth clients with timely responses.
- Supervise associates and senior associates on all projects, reviewing and providing feedback on their work.
- Train associates and seniors on current software tools.
- Act as a career advisor to associates and senior associates.
- Schedule and manage workload of associates and senior associates.
- Provide verbal and written performance feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Taxation (preferred).
- 5+ years public accounting experience in private client area, including individuals, estates, partnerships, S‑corporations, trusts, and private foundations.
- CPA certification (required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Effective delegation skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience developing and managing a team of tax professionals.
- Client relationship management and executive presence.
- Advanced knowledge of subchapter K of the Internal Revenue Code and related tax account maintenance.

- Colorado: $95,000 – $130,000
- Illinois: $105,000 – $130,000
- Maryland: $113,000 – $120,000
- Massachusetts: $120,000 – $130,000
- Minnesota: $90,000 – $120,000
- New Jersey: $115,000 – $140,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $125,000 – $160,000
- Washington: $95,000 – $125,000
- Washington DC: $120,000 – $140,000
