Ameri Corps Urban Safety Program (Jefferson East Inc. + Wayne State University's Center for Urban Studies)

The program aims to enhance public safety through crime prevention initiatives (block club building, providing safety items free of charge to residents, and support safe routes to school) and to reduce victimization through educational leaflets, home safety assessments, and target hardening. The program also focuses on creating healthier futures by supporting parents of children with elevated blood lead levels, offering water filtration filters in communities with action level exceedance, and identifying risks to provide interventions for healthier homes.
