This position is responsible for the implementation of the Storage Tank Division within Washtenaw and Wayne Counties. The inspector acts as liaison between the bureau and law enforcement, the regulated community, local inspectors and representatives from the industry. The role includes program tasks such as inspection, investigation, and enforcement activities for underground and above ground storage tank programs defined in Part 211, Underground Storage Tank Regulations, and related statutes.

Required Education And ExperienceEducation – Completion of high school.
- Hazardous Materials Storage Inspector 9 – 5 years of experience in handling, storage, quality control, environmental testing, or regulation of substances.
- Hazardous Materials Storage Inspector 10 – 6 years of experience, including 1 year equivalent to Inspector 9.
- Hazardous Materials Storage Inspector 11 – 7 years of experience, including 1 year equivalent to Inspector 10.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications – Valid driver's license.
