Position: Occupational Therapist- Home Health Care - Northern Macomb County - 24 Hours/Week - Days

Occupational Therapist – Home Health Care – Northern Macomb County – 24 Hours – Days – No Weekends or Holidays

$5,000 Sign on Bonus
Eligible for Part‑Time Benefits

The position will be in the Territory of Northern Macomb County and may include the following cities:
Armada, Ray, Macomb, Richmond, New Haven/Lenox, New Baltimore, Chesterfield, Columbus, Casco, Fair Haven, Ira

Henry Ford Home Health Care is a comprehensive network of home health products and services that focuses on the complex needs of patients and caregivers. Available programs include chronic care management, joint replacement care, specialty infusion and transplant care, wound, ostomy and continence nursing, and palliative care to name a few.

Occupational therapists provide an individual assessment and teach ways of safely performing activities of daily living, including recommendations and instruction on use of adaptive equipment and instruction on modifications within the home. The initial occupational therapy visit will take place within 48 hours of discharge from the hospital. Therapy may continue one to three times per week up to nine weeks, based on your individual needs.

General

Summary
  • Under the supervision of the site Team Leader or Supervisor, the Occupational Therapist performs OT evaluation and treatment patient care duties as appropriate.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, physicians and other system employees regarding patient care needs and documents all aspects of patient care.
  • Supervises / delegates to assistants and technicians as appropriate.
  • Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
License / Certification
  • Current State of Michigan Registration.
  • National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Working Conditions
  • Patient care setting with potential exposure to communicable disease.
  • Limited noise, temperature fluctuations and dust are possible.
