Cambria Hotel Detroit – Banquet Lead

The Cambria Hotel in Detroit is expanding and looking for a Banquet Lead to join our team. The Banquet Lead supervises all banquet events at the Cambria Detroit hotel, ensuring operations run smoothly and guests’ comfort and safety are prioritized.

• Review event orders (BEOs) before service to understand timelines, menus, room setup, and special requirements.
• Set up event spaces, stock, and prepare guest-ready areas according to BEO standards.
• Monitor pacing of food and beverage service to align with the event timeline.
• Communicate with the kitchen on course timing, dietary needs, last‑minute changes or issues.
• Coordinate with fellow servers to divide tasks and maintain smooth service transitions.
• Act as the guest‑facing point person for basic event questions or requests during service.
• Identify and elevate any issues to the manager on duty when necessary.
• Perform full banquet server duties: greet guests, take beverage orders, serve plated or buffet meals, clear tables, reset as needed.
• Assist with bar service or beverage stations when required.
• Complete side duties: stocking, polishing, and maintaining clean work areas.
• Guide coworkers on event flow, sequence of service, and shift expectations.
• Confirm breakdown and reset tasks are completed according to hotel standards.
• Verify that equipment is returned, linens bagged, and all materials are properly stored.
• Complete basic post‑event documentation (if required).
• Ensure the banquet space is left clean, secure, and ready for the next event.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a banquet captain or.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear; reach with hands and arms; lift up to 10‑25 pounds and frequently up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to bend and twist.
