Job Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to play a key strategic and operational role in advancing our people strategy and shaping Labstat’s collaborative, high-performance culture. This is a remote role based in the United States
, with a strong preference for candidates located within driving distance of Kitchener, Ontario
, to support regular in-person engagement with site and leadership teams.
This role will support a large majority of employees based in Kitchener, Ontario
, while also partnering with leaders and employees across the United States and the Netherlands
.
Monthly travel to the Kitchener, Ontario site is required to build relationships, support leaders, and drive key people initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Building and executing HR strategies aligned with business objectives across Canada, the U.S., and the Netherlands
- Serving as the primary HR partner for a workforce predominantly based in Canada, with a strong focus on the Kitchener, Ontario site
- Providing hands‑on HRBP support in compliance with Canadian employment and labor laws, including Ontario‑specific regulations
- Advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness within the Canadian regulatory framework
- Enhance talent acquisition, compensation, benefits (including pensions), and workforce planning
- Lead organizational design, culture, and leadership development initiatives
- Support leaders through change management, growth, and organizational complexity
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and cross‑functional collaboration
- Partner closely with site leadership to support both hourly and salaried populations
Travel Expectations
- Monthly travel to Kitchener, Ontario is required.
- Additional travel may be required periodically based on business needs, leadership meetings, or key initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior HR Business Partner roles
- Direct experience supporting Canadian employees as an HR Business Partner, with strong working knowledge of Canadian and Ontario employment and labor laws
- Experience supporting multi-site and multi-country organizations, including hourly and commercial teams
- Strong background in compensation strategy, complex benefits (including pensions), and talent analytics
- Proven ability to operate effectively in high-growth, change-driven environments; experience with union avoidance strategies preferred
- Strong business acumen with a consultative, coaching-oriented leadership style
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred
