Plus, we take our commitment to revitalization one step further with our Compliance and Nuisance Abatement programs, requiring renovation and occupancy to improve neighborhoods, eliminate blight, and combat real estate speculation.

The Detroit Land Bank Authority works directly with individual buyers, as well as Community Partner organizations and developers for projects big and small.

Salary Range: $30-$40

Work Model: Hybrid in Detroit, MI, with occasional evening or weekend work for releases or critical incidents.

The Magento Developer supports the build and upkeep of our Magento 2 storefront. You will develop PHP modules and themes, implement HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for new features, maintain integrations with Salesforce, and help instrument analytics. This is a junior role suited for a curious builder who learns quickly, writes clean code, and enjoys collaborating with product, design, and QA.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Implement Magento 2 features including product listing, search, cart, checkout, and customer account flows.
  • Build and maintain custom PHP modules, observers, plugins, and theme components.
  • Create responsive UI using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Configure and consume Magento REST and Graph

    QL APIs.
  • Support integrations between Magento and Salesforce using APIs or middleware.
  • Configure Google Analytics 4 for events and funnels.
  • Write basic unit and integration tests, assist with code reviews, and follow branching conventions.
  • Help triage bugs, analyze logs, and fix performance or data issues.
  • Prepare release notes, support UAT, and participate in deployments.
  • Document technical decisions, endpoints, and runbooks.
Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in web development or relevant internships.
  • Solid PHP knowledge and familiarity with Magento 2 concepts like modules, themes, layout XML, DI, and Composer.
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of REST or Graph

    QL and JSON payloads.
  • Exposure to Google Analytics or GA4 and Tag Manager event setup.
  • Comfortable with Git, pull requests, and issue tracking tools such as Jira or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, strong problem-solving, and a growth mindset.
Preferred
  • Coursework or hands‑on exposure to Salesforce data model, APIs, or Flow.
  • Familiarity with MySQL queries for debugging or simple reporting.
  • Experience with Magento checkout, payments, and common extensions.
  • Basic testing skills using PHPUnit or Magento testing frameworks.
  • Awareness of security, PCI, and privacy best practices.
  • Experience with Linux, containers, or cloud environments.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or sit with occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs. The employee is required to use their hands to input, view and retrieve data from computers. The employee is required to do a great deal of local travel to properties within the city of Detroit (5%);
