Advisor, Field Service Engineer - Detroit, Michigan

Job OverviewSupport the MBUSA Customer Experience journey by providing direct technical support in diagnosing vehicles that dealer technicians struggle to repair. This includes on‑line phone or on‑site support and coaching dealer personnel to improve customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Provide technical assistance (remote via Holo Lens/Go To Assist ) to dealers to resolve vehicle repairs.
- Authorize repair or diagnostic procedures, including time allowance and modifications.
- Collaborate with dealer management to improve workflow and repair quality performance.
- Guide dealer technicians in proper diagnostic strategy and repair procedures.
- Conduct new launch vehicle testing and evaluation to resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical input and guidance to assigned dealers and TIPs case management.
- Collaborate with internal partners to resolve owner complaints.
- Conduct vehicle inspections for warranty, lemon law, compliance or special cases and provide assessment.
- Partner with legal counsel and other partners to make sound business decisions and mitigate litigation.
- Associate degree (accredited) or equivalent work experience in automotive technology.
- Minimum 10 years’ service experience in diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles.
- Mercedes‑Benz workshop experience required.
- Knowledge of automotive technical information systems, repair/diagnostic procedures, and administrative procedures.
- Strong analytical, IT, project management, and other skills as listed.
