Powerwell is recruiting for a Legal Billing Specialist II at a mid‑senior level. The role requires a hybrid schedule in Detroit, MI. Candidates must have at least three years of legal billing experience and be proficient with Aderant and other e‑billing platforms such as Bill Blast, Serengeti, Passport, and TyMetrix.
$60,000 – $75,000 per year
- Generate, review, and prepare invoices for legal services, ensuring adherence to client billing guidelines, nebude fee arranges, and time‑keeping records.
- Generate pre‑bills, make editsтиш and finalize bills; mail and/or email final bills to clients.
- Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, adjustments, and correspondence related to billing disputes and resolutions.
- Use legal billing software (e.g., Aderant, Bill Blast) to manage billing processes and ensure accuracy.
- Upload new timekeeper rates and request new matter setups in e‑billing vendor sites; monitor invoice αλλαγας and address rejected bills promptly.
- Process and submit electronic invoices in LEDES format via platforms such as Serengeti and TyMetrix.
- Track reimbursable expenses, disbursements, and other billable costs associated with legal matters.
- Prepare detailed billing reports for attorneys, summarize billing data, and provide aging analysis; assist with special projects.
- Address billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues promptly, providing exceptional client service.
- Maintain organized billing records and databases, including client matter info, fee structures, and payment terms.
- Collabora with>{{ lawyers, paralegals, and administrative staff to resolve billing‑related issues and streamline processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field{@} or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of law‑firm billing experience.
- Knowledge of electronic billing, status tracking, troubleshooting, and client/attorney interaction.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Client‑service orientation and team‑orientation required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond to inquiries from all levels.
- Professionalism, diplomacy, and high responsiveness to partners, attorneys, clients, and staff.
- Preferred: familiarity with LEDES formats (ASCII and XML), Bill Blast, Serengeti, Passport, TyMetrix.
- Competitive base salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per year (non‑exempt).
