Director of Construction Project Management

A respected construction management firm based in metro Detroit is seeking an experienced Director of Project Management to oversee multiple large-scale construction projects from planning through close-out. The Director of Project Management will lead multiple project teams, ensuring each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position works closely with senior leadership to align project execution with company goals while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee multiple construction projects simultaneously, from preconstruction through final completion
  • Develop and execute project strategies, budgets, schedules, and quality control measures
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Engineers, and field teams to ensure project and company goals are met
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships, providing clear communication and proactive problem-solving
  • Drive adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards across all job sites
  • Oversee project budgets, cost controls, and risk management processes
  • Participate in contract negotiations, procurement, and vendor management
  • Provide executive-level reports and updates on project performance, budgets, and risks
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and business growth
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of construction project management experience, including 10+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and teams concurrently
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar project management tools
  • Deep understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and risk management
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable construction practices
