RIM - Manager of Patient Services (SCI) Full Time Rotate

DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is one of the nation’s largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. RIM is known for its clinical expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics and catastrophic injury care. The Institute houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeast Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of only 16 federally designated model systems of care for brain injury care and research.

RIM also operates 31 outpatient sites throughout southeast Michigan specializing in sports medicine and orthopedics.

Reporting to Nursing leadership for the hospital site, the Manager of Patient Services assumes management responsibility for a major nursing operational support function. The role involves overseeing patient service processes, staffing, fiscal management, and customer service outcomes. The manager collaborates with senior leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate activities related to department, hospital, and DMC objectives. The position also provides business support to Nursing operations, ensuring regulatory requirements are communicated, implemented, and monitored.

• Provide patient care accountability, plan, implement, and evaluate processes related to performance improvement, staffing effectiveness, fiscal management, staff competence and customer service outcomes.
• Develop, monitor, and revise processes and procedures; obtain approvals as needed.
• Initiate or recommend personnel actions, complete performance appraisals, and assess performance of daily, monthly and yearly goals.
• Assist in long‑range goal development and budget monitoring for designated areas.
• Model customer service excellence and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
