The Project Manager Position
The Project Manager oversees all phases of construction projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing site-specific safety plans, managing project schedules, coordinating logistics, and implementing quality control measures. The role involves mentoring engineers, interns, and field staff, while fostering a positive safety culture.
Additionally, the Project Manager manages procurement activities, negotiates subcontractor agreements, and facilitates communication among owners, architects, engineers, and contractors. Reporting to the Group VP or President/CEO, the Project Manager oversees cost control, budget forecasting, change management, and project closeout processes while maintaining strong client and team relationships.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities of the Project Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of construction experience with direct project supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, P6 scheduling, Procore, and Timberline/Sage
- Familiarity with union relations and OSHA safety policies
- OSHA 30-hour certification required
