Maintenance Manager – Resource Search, Inc.

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager for a permanent direct‑hire position in Detroit. This tier‑one supplier offers competitive compensation, benefits, and PTO to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Maintenance Supervisors, clerical and support staff.
  • Keep manufacturing equipment running through effective maintenance.
  • Provide support for preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Address unplanned equipment downtime, assess root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead predictive and preventive maintenance systems and personnel.
  • Ensure all regulatory and code requirements associated with equipment and facility are met.
  • Interface with Facilities Supervisor to support building and grounds issues.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of maintenance for a manufacturing plant and all equipment.
  • Account for maintenance improvement programs and projects that enhance plant and equipment performance.
  • Develop plant‑specific maintenance strategies and lead activities to achieve key performance goals.
  • Establish process performance metrics; track, analyze, and report performance in terms of quality, safety, and cost.
  • Ensure staff and contractors share a sense of urgency for mission‑critical operations.
  • Assist in determining staffing and operational levels.
  • Review all expenditures for tools, supplies, and services; recommend approvals.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and assistance to maintenance plant team members.
  • Direct the activities of the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisors.
  • Manage maintenance budgets while driving cost‑reduction ideas.
  • Plan and execute Full Height Full Pressure (FHFP) & Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement plans.
  • Lead plant initiatives to deliver performance goals.
  • Communicate operating philosophy, objectives, and expectations; enforce company, plant, and department policies.
  • Maintain consistency through constant communication within the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality procedures.
  • Hold employees accountable to established position expectations.
  • Promote a zero‑accident safety culture through safe practices and procedures.
  • Maintain safety programs in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Conduct safety scans and benchmark with internal and external resources for continuous improvement.
  • Perform BBS/BEST observations as required.
  • Support Plant Quality Systems.
  • Own Maintenance per TS/IATF‑16949 standard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten years manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of five years supervisory experience in maintenance and facility management.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical and control mechanical systems.
  • High level of maintenance orientation; self‑driven with minimal supervision.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment.
  • Hands‑on approach for coaching and development of others.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in problem‑solving techniques and driving sustainable solutions.
  • Understanding of change leadership and design principles.
  • Working knowledge of Lean methodologies.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage budgets.
