• Plans, directs, and coordinates construction activities for a wide variety of projects.
• Project types range from Water/Wastewater plants (primarily) to other concrete, commercial and industrial projects.
• Typical workload volume is overseeing one large project or a couple/several smaller projects.
• Ensure that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
• Manage Project Engineers, Superintendents and Foremen who supervise construction employees; charged with overall direction, coordination and evaluation of team.
• Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
• Confer with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority.
• Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
• Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Review project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources for various phases of project.
• Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed.
• Prepare project reports for management, client, or others.
• Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
• Represent the company in Owner progress meetings.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts and be responsible for project profit or loss.
• Lead project team in daily field coordination meetings, weekly block schedule meetings, and monthly safety kickoff meetings.
• Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
