Machine Repairman Press Room Role Description

The Machine Repairman must have experience in a manufacturing environment repairing and troubleshooting pressroom equipment (stamping presses as well as press feeders and machine tools). Journeyman certification or equivalent. You will be responsible for the repair of stamping-related equipment; perform equipment and infrastructure preventive maintenance. Could also perform some automated machine and welding equipment maintenance as well as building maintenance.

• Makes mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs to machine tools and various pieces of equipment. In addition, can make repairs to pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Maintains machine tools in a satisfactory condition and at tolerances set forth by the original manufacturer.
• Must understand gearing and gear trains to maintain presses and related equipment.
• Must understand lubrication, and modern lubrication systems to troubleshoot and maintain the same.
• Must have knowledge of blueprint reading for ordering needed repair parts for machines and to replace stock.
• Must be able to rebuild pumps, cylinders, various valves.
• Works with and helps instruct apprentices in certain phases of their on-the-job training.
• Fill in work request tickets with necessary information.

3+ years of trade school/ work experience, vocational education, or completed accredited apprenticeship program.

One or more years of hands-on experience in the industry.
