Conventional Washer

Overview

Conventional Washer at General Linen & Uniform Services. The position requires the individual to load soiled linen into washing machines for processing into the wash cycle.

• Startup time to arrange carts and have supply report forms ready.
• Monitor all faults and clear any faults from the machine.
• Maintain data, compile a daily report, and submit to a supervisor at the end of the shift.
• Notify the supervisor of any maintenance, chemical, and machine faults.
• Immediately report equipment problems to the maintenance department.
• Constantly monitor and clean the area as necessary.
• Follow safety rules and guidelines at all times.
• Wear personal protective equipment if necessary.
• Perform other related duties as required and requested by supervisor.
• Ensure that loads are being processed in proper sequence and at the proper weight.

• Self-starter that can work independently and set the pace for the team.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear and concise directions.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and focus on multiple tasks.
• Flexible in work assignments and schedule.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to load large weight slings into washers and manually into dryers.
• Ability to push, pull, or move heavy carts of full dirty linen.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, squat, stoop, and move frequently throughout the day.

• Must be able to sort by color and category.

• Linen experience preferred.

• Must be able to work any shift, time, holidays, and weekends.
