The Machine Repairman must have experience in a manufacturing environment repairing and troubleshooting pressroom equipment (stamping presses as well as press feeders and machine tools). Journeyman certification or equivalent. You will be responsible for the repair of stamping-related equipment; perform equipment and infrastructure preventive maintenance. Could also perform some automated machine and welding equipment maintenance as well as building maintenance.

Makes mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs to machine tools and various pieces of equipment. In addition, can make repairs to pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Maintains machine tools in a satisfactory condition and at tolerances set forth by the original manufacturer.

Must understand gearing and gear trains to maintain presses and related equipment.

Must understand lubrication, and modern lubrication systems to troubleshoot and maintain the same.

Must have knowledge of blueprint reading for ordering needed repair parts for machines and to replace stock.

Must be able to rebuild pumps, cylinders, various valves.

Works with and helps instruct apprentices in certain phases of their on-the-job training.

Fill in work request tickets with necessary information.

Experience & Training: 3+ years of trade school/ work experience, vocational education, or completed accredited apprenticeship program.

Experience:

One or more years of hands-on experience in the industry.
