Job Summary

The Corporate Operations Specialist is a rotational leadership development role designed for high-potential manufacturing professionals from outside the manufactured housing industry. Working closely with Regional Directors, this position provides hands-on operational support across multiple manufacturing facilities while developing the capabilities needed for future advancement into a Regional Director role. The position drives manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, quality performance, and operational execution through direct engagement on the production floor.

Position

Details
  • Reports to Regional Director
  • High travel requirement, up to 80% of the time
  • Remote within US
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Regional Directors to improve operational performance across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Spend at least 50% of field time on the manufacturing floor coaching production teams, group leads, and supervisors on workflow, workstation pacing, labor utilization, and standard work.
  • Apply proven discrete-manufacturing practices, including Lean sequencing, 5S, visual management, error proofing, cycle-time balancing, and standardized work, to off-site homebuilding operations.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks affecting line velocity, throughput, labor balance, subassembly staging, and schedule adherence through structured root cause analysis.
  • Strengthen in-process quality controls, inspection gates, upstream verification, and defect containment while reinforcing a next-station-is-the-customer mindset.
  • Coach Production Managers and plant leaders on labor management, daily production execution, supervisor accountability, and sustained performance improvement.
  • Focus plant engagements on real-time coaching, hands-on problem solving, and high-impact tactical improvements rather than administrative auditing.
  • Progress from supporting assigned operational projects to independently leading plant turnarounds, regional continuous improvement rollouts, and facility interventions.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Four to eight years of manufacturing, operations, production leadership, industrial engineering, process improvement, or related experience in a high-volume environment outside manufactured housing.
  • Practical experience with Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, Kaizen, line balancing, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence frontline employees, supervisors, and plant leaders without direct reporting authority.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally up to 50% to 80%, including overnight travel.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, consumer products, building products, or other discrete manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
  • Experience leading plant improvement workshops, Kaizen events, or operational turnaround initiatives.
