Overlooking the Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) is a 350-bed facility that has served the Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887. A recent addition to the VBMC campus is the Patient Pavilion with 294 private patient rooms, a 30-room intensive care unit, 13 surgical suites, and 66 exam and treatment rooms in the emergency and trauma center. VBMC is part of Nuvance Health.

This regional medical center is home to the area’s first cardiothoracic surgery program between Westchester County and Albany, NY, and has the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the region.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient’s physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Qualifications

• Current license as a registered professional nurse
• Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
• Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
