Registered Nurse Unit Educator - Transplant Nephrology Unit - 36 Hours Weekly - Day Shift

Full Time Benefit Eligible

Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Three 12-hour shifts per week

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s Transplant unit is a 21-bed unit specializing in nephrology, and kidney transplant recovery. We are proud to provide critical care to our patients throughout their stay (an average of four days), in partnership with our Dialysis team. As a medical surgical designated unit, we welcome Registered Nurses of all education and experience levels, and will ensure that you are trained to be successful.

• Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Development Educators, plans, implements and evaluates educational and quality improvement activities on the nursing unit.
• Role-models excellence in patient care through clinical practice, continuous quality improvement and integration of new nursing knowledge into practice.
• Adheres to all standards of nursing care and standards within the job description.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current Michigan RN licensure required.
• Equivalent of four years clinical experience with defined patient population preferred.
• Demonstrates interest and ability to teach patients, families and co-workers.
• Demonstrates leadership, good communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills, flexibility, self-directiveness and initiative required.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS) required.
