Pediatric Nurse-LPN

Join Aveanna Healthcare as a Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN). This role is part of our expanding Private Duty Nursing team, delivering high‑quality home health care to children with a focus on compassionate, evidence‑based practice.

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, adhering to the care plan, physician orders, and confidentiality standards.

• Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
• Observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to the supervisor or physician.
• Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and responses promptly.
• Participate in, implement, and update nursing care plans.
• Make appropriate nursing decisions based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
• Recognize changes in patient needs and intervene to prevent or reduce risk.
• Maintain professional accountability by following Aveanna policies, regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Use infection control measures that protect staff and patients, following OSHA standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, self‑care, and prevention strategies.
• Engage in continuing education to maintain competencies in nursing practice.

• Active, unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of practice.
• Compact license transferred to state of residence within 90 days.
• Current CPR certification, with hand‑on component.
• TB skin test completed within the last 12 months.
• Minimum six months of hands‑on nursing experience, including pediatrics experience.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Unrestricted state license as an LPN in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing policies.

• South Carolina – 1 year of pediatrics experience.
• California – 1 year of experience working under an active nursing license.
• Louisiana – 1 year of experience as a licensed nurse.
• Continuing education as required by the state.

• Six months of recent experience as an LPN in a clinical care setting.
• Home health experience.

• Attention to detail.
• Time management.
• Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution.
• Good organizational and communication skills.

• Speak, write, read, and understand English.
• Travel and lift 50 pounds.
• Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
• Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
• Sit and climb stairs.
• Good visual and hearing acuity, as well as sense of smell and touch.
• Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations.

• Work in diverse environments, including exposure to allergens and other conditions.
• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
