About the Role
A Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility is seeking a Quality System Engineer to lead and maintain the effectiveness of our Quality Management System. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards while driving continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee internal and external quality system audits.
- Ensure full implementation, maintenance, and revision of the Quality System Manual.
- Define, plan, and communicate short- and long-term quality objectives.
- Evaluate the compliance and effectiveness of quality system processes and documentation.
- Interface with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters, including corrective actions and performance tracking.
- Monitor customer portals daily and report findings per established escalation procedures.
- Verify control plans and process adherence for product manufacturing.
- Lead supplier audits and performance evaluations.
- Support management reviews and follow-up on improvement actions.
- Maintain alignment with industry standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
- Act as a key liaison for customer satisfaction and system compliance.
- Empower authority to stop production to prevent non-conformities when necessary.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in quality tools: 8D, SPC, PPAP, MSA, FMEA.
- Deep understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Auditor for IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 / VDA 6.
- Familiarity with customer-specific requirements within the automotive industry.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or Management (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or quality management role.
- Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment required.
