Security Dispatcher Part Time Nights )

DMC Harper University Hospital is a specialty referral hospital with Centers of Excellence in neurosciences, bariatric surgery, vascular services, cardiovascular services, hypertension, stroke prevention and heart failure.

• Monitoring and response to life safety systems including fire panel alarms, CCTV, infant abduction systems, access control.
• Knowledge of individual hospital and exterior campus.
• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information.
• Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance.
• Use radio, phone or computer to send Police Authority Officers to respond to situations.
• Coordinate with police, fire department and other emergency response teams to ensure appropriate response.
• Understanding of police and fire response 911 notifications.
• Reporting unusual activity to security staff and investigation.
• Track inquiries, reports and requests via logs.
• Provide exceptional customer service to staff, patients, visitors and physicians.
• Maintain knowledge of security orders, regulations and requirements.
• Emergency Management credentials FEMA 300, 400, 700.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional manner.
• Ability to handle both common and crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
• Ability to use sound and independent judgement and critical thinking skills.
• Strong active listening skills.
• Ability to frequently prepare written reports and provide quality customer service.
• Must meet all physical requirements of the job (annual physical possible).
• Must perform duties wearing personal protective equipment as required.
