Uniformed Security Officer

Detroit, MI

Part‑time position available. Pay: $20.00 per hour.

• Provide excellent customer service to clients, customers, co‑workers, etc.
• Guard posts – this may include building lobbies or reception areas.
• Conduct hourly foot patrol of interior and exterior to check entrances, doors, windows and vents are locked and secure against break‑ins (includes climbing stairs).
• Monitor surroundings on closed‑circuit television.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check for employee and vendor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
• May provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations.
• May operate x‑ray and/or metal detection equipment where deployed.
• Follow site‑specific post guidelines.
• Report potentially hazardous conditions and items needing repair (lighting, plumbing, wet floors, etc.).
• Document daily activities and incident reports.

• Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED), per MCL 338.1067.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060.
• Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol‑related offenses, per MCL 338.1060.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8–12 hours at a time.
• Must have visual acuity of at least 20 feet (with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
• Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments.
• Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Must be professional with excellent customer service skills.
• Must have excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Part‑time benefit package is available to employees who have worked at least 1 year and maintained an average of 20+ hours per week. Benefits include:

Benefits are offered once every November to eligible employees. Employees may become ineligible if their availability for work changes and they cannot be scheduled for the required number of hours.
