Priority Waste maintains a diversified platform providing service to municipal solid waste, construction, and demolition customers. Job Purpose
As a Heavy Duty Machinery Mechanic, you will perform repairs and maintenance on refuse vehicles and heavy machinery, including but not limited to vehicle refuse bodies and control systems, air brake systems, suspension, steering, hydraulics, electrical systems, engine work, HVAC components, drivetrain, and chassis components.

Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining vehicles and equipment
• Engine repair and maintenance
• Welding and fabrication
• Scanning trucks and troubleshooting mechanical issues using electronic tools
• Electrical repairs
• Assisting with DOT inspections
• Oil changes and greasing trucks/equipment
• Replacing tires when necessary
• Performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Safely executing road service calls to ensure safe return of equipment
• Troubleshooting emissions issues
• Problem-solving actively
• Executing work orders and reporting to Maintenance Supervisor

The Successful Candidate Profile Includes
- Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required
- Understanding work orders and labor time standards

- Experience with maintenance on refuse trucks and heavy machinery
- ASE Certifications are a plus but not required
- Minimum two years of experience as a heavy-duty technician
- Ability to perform basic inspections of brakes, drivetrain, emissions, hydraulics, transmissions, engine, steering, and suspension
