Up to 80% (Typically 3 weeks/month on-site, 1 week remote/home-based)

Our client, a global leader in high-tech surface finishing systems, is seeking a Travel Install/Service Technician to join their team. This hybrid, travel-heavy role is responsible for installing and servicing industrial powder coating equipment throughout North America. You’ll troubleshoot technical issues, perform equipment installations, and train customers on equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic background with experience related to any type of coating equipment (powder, liquid paint, adhesive, sealants…).

You must be hands-on, safety-oriented, and thrive in a customer-facing environment. This is a terrific travel opportunity to join a company with great benefits and a family-oriented culture.

• Travel to customer sites to perform equipment installations, troubleshooting, and service

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system issues

• Install & test powder coating equipment across customer sites in North America

• Coordinate on-site needs, timelines, and progress with internal and customer teams

• Support pre-assembly of equipment and components before field installation

• Train customers on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures

• During non-travel weeks, provide diagnostic troubleshooting via phone or email

• Accurately document work performed and complete service reports

• Relay technical issues and insights to the internal team for resolution

• Serve as a technical resource for the sales team as needed

• Operate lifts, forklifts, and other equipment in compliance with safety standards

• Adhere to all company protocols and site safety regulations

Travel Install/Service Technician (Coating Application Equip. Exp. Req.) Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree + 1 year of experience
OR
3+ years of related experience is required

• Hands-on mechanical or electrical experience related to coating equipment is required

• Proficiency with standard hand tools is required

• Strong communication skills for in-person and remote technical support are required

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including calendar management, are required

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends, is required

• Comfortable with frequent travel (up to 80%) across North America is required
