What You Will Do (Responsibilities)As a Field Service Technician, your day-to-day activities will include:
- System Integration: Install and integrate residential and commercial security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, biometrics, and related low-voltage systems.
- Testing & Inspection: Perform routine system testing, troubleshooting, and verification to prevent malfunctions and ensure code compliance.
- Customer Support: Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system operations clearly to clients.
- Asset Maintenance: Maintain your assigned company vehicle, tools, and inventory in clean, working order.
- Documentation: Complete service tickets and required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Compliance: Maintain a firm grasp of local and national codes (NFPA 72, NEC) and regulations.
- Teamwork: Maintain good communication and collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in a rotational after-hours and weekend emergency call schedule.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on industry experience in low-voltage security or fire alarm systems.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- License: Current, valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Screening: Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.
- Certifications (Preferred but not required): Michigan Fire Alarm Specialty Technician (FAST) license or NICET Level II certification.
