Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Blazer Jobs is seeking a certified Social Worker for a full-time, school-based role in Detroit, MI. This position is ideal for a compassionate professional dedicated to supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.

• Provide direct support in non-academic areas, including counseling, social-emotional development, and crisis intervention, tailored to individual student needs
• Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement goals and interventions in accordance with district policies and IEP requirements
• Regularly communicate with parents, guardians, and team members to exchange updates and coordinate support strategies
• Conduct assessments of student progress using formal and informal tools
• Prepare for and actively participate in IEP, ARD, and other relevant meetings related to student services

• Valid Michigan Social Worker license or appropriate credential
• Experience working in school settings preferred
• Strong understanding of counseling strategies, social-emotional support, and crisis intervention
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and community resources
• Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills
